Working Group Data Protection

The Working Group Data Protection promotes the exchange on FAIR data management and data protection regulations within the NFDI community. A key output of its work is a series of factsheets that help researchers reconcile the FAIR principles with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The group meets every two months, typically starting with a lean-coffee session in which participants discuss current challenges and experiences, followed by short presentations and open discussions on topics such as:

  • Legal aspects of AI and data protection
  • Data anonymity
  • Secure handling of data

Through sharing expertise and supporting the development of training materials, the working group promotes awareness and best practices in the area of data protection.
